He is the perfect weapon, mine.
Dark Cathedral no longer lurks in the shadows, no longer exists only as a whispered rumor, half-believed by any but the sect’s followers. Everyone in Magique sees them now. And those who cross their paths, especially those in government, magical enforcement, or one of the royal families, is given a stark choice: join us, or be enslaved.
Refuse to listen, and a faceless warrior in a golden mask metes out judgment on the spot. So far, it’s said, no Magical who’s faced him has left the battlefield alive.
To Leda, the reports are as painful as they are irrelevant. She cares about nothing but finding Bones and bringing him back, before there’s nothing left of him to save. With what friends she has left, she follows every rumor, every sighting, in a desperate attempt to bring him back.
But his father, Malefic, has other plans for both of them.

Glow in the dark "Malcroix Cross" pin, hit as a stretch goal!!
Kickstarters!
There's going to be a short delay on paperbacks and hardcovers on retail sites for my Bones and Shadows series, because I decided to run my very first Kickstarters for the initial paper versions (paperbacks and very bling-y hardcovers) exclusively there!
So I did that from February 2-23rd, 2026 for the first two books, and now I'm getting ready to launch a second one for books 3-4 (probably early 2027).
If you want to be notified about the next one (you'll be able to purchase the entire series for this one), CLICK HERE and hit "Notify me on launch," which is the black button to the right near the top banner.
A few things to note re: Kickstarter:
(1) Check the "Updates" tab on there for information on the upcoming Kickstarter! :)
(2) Once the 2nd Kickstarter is fulfilled, I will release retail versions in hardback / paperback format.
(3) I also plan to sell special editions on here ~ you won't get all of the bells and whistles the Kickstarter folks get in terms of artwork, stretch goals, etc., and you have to wait a bit longer, but they WILL be on here, likely in summer 2027! :)
A Few Things About both Kickstarters:
* I'm offering three (3) Exclusive Special Editions for this series: a Deluxe Retail Edition, an Art Deco Edition, and a Gothic Edition. All 3 were designed with all-human artists, and the second two are collaborations with two different artists per cover and dust jacket!
* Every book is hand-signed by the author!
* Each edition features foiled book covers, a gorgeous fantasy map (I'm using 2 different artists for these - there will be an all-new map for books 3-4), chapter headings, endpapers, and tons of art inside. The two (non-retail) versions also include foiled dust jackets, sprayed edges, and other bling from stretch goals!
* Most tiers come with an art pack with over 30 pieces of original artwork (stickers, prints, etc.!)
Bio
Jules D’Or is the fantasy and paranormal romance pen name for USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author JC Andrijeski.
Jules/JC is an obsessive fan of romantasy and enemies to lovers stories, who also happens to have a background in journalism and history, and a tendency to drink far too much coffee. She’s also been known to meditate in caves, abduct furry and shiny things, wander far from home, and will generally read whatever she can get her hands on. She grew up in the Bay Area of California, but at various times lived in the U.K., Europe, Australia and Asia, and from coast to coast in the United States.
As of this writing, she is back in California, where she writes full time and annoys various family members, but, as that could change any minute really, that may not be true by the time you read this.
JC writes paranormal mystery romance, including the Quentin Black Mystery series, the Angels in L.A. series, and Vampire Detective Midnight. She also write science fantasy with romance, including the Bridge and Sword series, Alien Apocalypse, and Seer Wars. You can find my other work at jcandrijeski.com
